NERR: From a Single Report to an Expanded Franchise

When New England Basketball Services first signed on with Jumpstart back in 2007, they approached us with a request to refine their basic site.  The request was to provide current information and rankings in an interactive way for the New England area basketball players that would cater to the target audiences of high school students, coaches and college recruiters.  We had made changes to the overall online brand from changing the website name from New England Basketball Services to the New England Recruiting Report. This way the online user would know immediately what the purpose of the website is and the message that the client is trying to convey. We also created a logo and offline presence with promotional items like vinyl banners for the grand opening. Lastly, Jumpstart created a fully functional website for the NERR.

Fast forward to the 2009-2010 updates to the website.  It was here that we focused on the overall design and functionality. There was a high demand for articles and recruits to be showcased.  We succeeded with an enhanced database driven “Prospect” section that implements the “Players Profile” pages with detailed stats, related sport articles and video coverage that drove straight from the NERR database and, in turn, helped categorize the ever-growing content and profiles.  Other enhancements were the Junior Spotlight captioned area on the homepage and seamless video funtionality throughout.  Online advertising also became a Jumpstart priority that would be included in the new NERR polished look!

In 2012, the next step was put into place.  A Franchise project had been successful with two regional divisions: The Midwest Girls and the HoopRootz Junior Elite websites along with a new refined look for this year.  These franchises helped create a more robust NERR, which catered to the girls and junior athletes as a whole.  Going into our sixth year with the New England Recruiting Report we see no signs of slowing down!  Stay tuned for the next phase for NERR grows into.
